There are many ways girls can take the lead in the Girl Scout Cookie Program®. One way is to take care of others. A group of Girl Scouts from Colorado decided to do just that when they announced their idea for a new pilot program in the spring.
G.I.V.E. stands for Girls Investing in a Voice for Everyone, and it gives older girls in the cookie program an opportunity to use their cookie credits to support girls in need. They can opt out of the rewards program to receive additional proceeds to benefit other girls and troops who lack funds for activities like community trips and summer camps.
A team from Little Brownie Bakers® provided early support for the program by visiting Colorado and helping girls run a branding and marketing workshop. Girls worked together to design a logo for the program, and they brainstormed ideas for getting other girls involved.
G.I.V.E. will be officially launched at the start of the 2018-2019 Go for Bold™ cookie season. Meanwhile, Little Brownie’s tech support team is working with Girl Scouts of Colorado to integrate the program with the eBudde™ cookie management system.
